Founded in 2019, the studio was built on a simple idea: that a book is not just a container for images or text, but an object in its own right — one whose paper, binding, and structure are as much a part of the work as its content. We work closely with artists from the earliest stages of a project, helping shape how a body of work becomes a book, through to printing, binding, and publication.

Every title we produce is bespoke. Rather than fitting artists into a standard format, we build each edition around the specific demands of the work — its scale, sequence, materials, and the way it wants to be held and read. Printing and binding are done in-house, which means decisions about paper, structure, and finish are never separated from the creative process.

Folium publishes limited and special editions in collaboration with artists, alongside project-based commissions for individuals and institutions.
